Wild Adventures

Print

This is a class project cover story layout from Baltimore Magazine. I designed the layout using the article and photos provided for the story. A few of the photos were also provided by a free photograph source called unsplash.com.

I connected the first paragraph of the cover story with childhood adventure and wanted to express that feeling within the typography for the project by using handwritten fonts for titles and sections. Using typography hierarchy and columns I committed to making the text organized, legible, and readable. I also paid close attention to leading and kerning as well as orphans and widows.

After taking my internship with Mid-Atlantic Media I revised the project using my new knowledge of magazine layout.
